A sculpture and interactive music player that updates the orchestrion of the 19th century with contemporary music of the 21st. The Aquebogue Orchestrion plays music in 6:1 surround sound using a Macintosh and a custom made interface. Eight different compositions can be triggered by the viewer/listener. Six individual speakers and a subwoofer play tunes featuring samples and sounds ranging from carousels, glockenspiels, fog horns and cocktail parties to treefrogs, pennywhistles, trolleycars, sirens and barrel organs.
